The Old Way of Buying Windows
The typical ways of buying home improvements in the past and why Easy Quote Windows has improved the experiance
The traditional way of buying any home improvement for your home is to call a business for a free estimate. Now there are basically 5 types of businesses that offer replacement windows. However, they all take your valuable time, and they all involve in home sales reps.
The first one is the Big Box Stores. The Big Box Stores are good at putting a product on a shelf and reselling it. But when it comes to custom windows, it really is just a way to generate more revenue for the stockholders. It is not their passion. It is a transaction.
The second way of buying new windows and doors, is to call the large franchise companies or factory direct companies. They are known for their advertised low prices. Just beware, the final price will be a lot more. And you know the saying, you get what you pay for. The franchise type or factory direct companies always use subcontractors. There installation is always bid out to the lowest subcontractor. And with today’s tight labor market, shortcuts are usually taken, and service after the sale will take forever.
The third business type, is the guy who has no office, works out of his truck. Usually does everything from selling, ordering, installing, and paying the bills. This contractor is usually good at installing when he shows up but typically does not answer his phone, provides no customer service, and usually if you need service down the road, good luck getting a return phone call.
The fourth business is the measure and leave company. They come out by appointment, but do not show you any window or explain any details. Their sales reps measure your windows from the outside and leave. If you have a two-story home, they guess at the sizes. This type of company is only going to be at your home along to put a tape measure on your windows. After a week or two, they email you a quote.
The fifth and most traditional way of getting a free estimate, is from a direct sales home improvement company. They will - by appointment - send a sale rep to your home and give you a 2-to-3-hour presentation explaining everything in detail.
Now let me explain a little more in detail about getting those free estimates and what that process looks like. You start by searching on the internet for window and door contractors in your area. You pick out 3 or 4 and start calling. Then, you set 3 or 4 appointments for a free estimate. Then the sale representatives start coming to your home. Now these sales reps earn their living by commissions. They will do a complete sales presentation to earn your business that day. This process can take several hours each. Wow! How Frustrating! Just go to Easy Quote Windows. We have replaced the need for the sales representative. No hassle, No High Pressure. No Sales Rep! Order when you are ready.
