Old Window Problems

Common problems with old windows that should be replaced

Let’s start by saying, when most homes are built, a builder uses the least expensive window. If it meets code, and its cheap, the builder is going to save money.

If your home is 15 years or older, you should consider replacing your windows and doors. Technology has come so far and with today’s new replacement windows you will notice a huge difference in energy savings alone.

If your energy bills are out of control, if you have way too much dust and dirt on your old windows, if the suns heat comes right through, if you can feel the drafts coming off your windows in the winter, all those problems are eliminated with new windows.

When you inspect your old windows, is the glass single pane, or double pane that is fogged up? Is the weatherstripping gone or rotted? Is the lock broken or missing? Maybe even the caulking on the outside has cracked and broken up. Is the screen broken, missing, or rotted? Will the window open or stay open? All these problems are wasting energy, leaving you uncomfortable, wearing out you’re heating, and air conditioning unit with excessive use. Now go outside. Are your windows looking bad? Missing paint? Bowed frames? Rusted? Decaying wood. Just Remember, we are ready, when you are!
